Dünya Doktorları Derneği (DDD) is a Turkish based humanitarian non-governmental organisation that facilitates access to healthcare for populations affected by armed conflict, violence, natural disasters, disease, famine, poverty and exclusion.
Our organization collaborates with partners and key stakeholders to implement projects that facilitate access to primary and secondary-level healthcare services to respond to the medical needs of displaced population.
DDD is the 16th member of the Doctors of the World International Network that is committed to meeting the health needs of vulnerable people globally.

Based in Eastern Aleppo, the Gynaecologist is under the line management of the Team Leader.
EXPECTED PROFILE
Knowledge & Qualification
· Doctor/Medical Degree; Graduate of accredited Medical school; Gynaecology Specialist Diploma;
Experience
· 2 years certified work experience in gynaecology;
· Knowledge of managed healthcare systems, medical quality assurance, quality improvement and risk management;
· Dedication to patient safety and quality of healthcare
Languages
· Required: Arabic
· Preferred: Kurdish or Turkish (oral and written);
IT & Equipment
· Good proficiency with Microsoft package and mobile data collection tools.

· Analytical thinking to evaluate different approaches/solutions for a specific environment

RESPONSIBILITIES
Main Responsibilities
· Gynaecology and obstetrics consultation
· Labour and Delivery room
· Reporting
· Other related tasks
Gynaecology and obstetrics consultation
· Collect, record, and maintain patient information, such as medical histories, reports, and examination results;
· Care for and treat women during prenatal, natal, and postnatal periods.
· Prescribe or administer therapy, medication, and other specialized medical care to treat or prevent illness, disease, or injury.
· Perform procedures as needed to preserve patients' health and deliver babies safely
· Explain procedures and discuss test results or prescribed treatments with patients.
· Monitor patients' conditions and progress and re-evaluate treatments as necessary.
· Advise patients and community members concerning diet, activity, hygiene, and disease prevention
· Refer patient to medical specialist or other practitioners when necessary
· Direct and coordinate activities of midwifes/nurses.
· Assist to improve patient’s reproductive health and reduce pregnancy and delivery risks for patient and baby;
· Ensure medical protocols and prescriptions are followed by the health care personnel in accordance with DDD guidelines;
· Ensure hygiene procedures are followed in order to limit infection risks;
· In collaboration with midwife ensure the quality of obstetrical care for patients;
· In collaboration with Lead General Practitioner ensure the quality of Antenatal and Postnatal Care and Family Planning provided at the centre.
· Multidisciplinary collaboration with other medical doctors and midwives is compulsory;
Labour and Delivery room
· Assist in correct triage, diagnosis and management of complications of pregnancy in association with nurses and doctors in accordance with DDD protocols;
· In collaboration with midwife, ensure correct application of labour protocols including use of partograph and identification and escalation of complications of labour and delivery;
· Provide information to the patient regarding what to do and how to manage the pain associated with childbirth;
· Monitor and recommend care and treatment to patients for both medical and emotional complications, as needed;
· Perform specific delivery procedures such as external cephalic version, twin and breech delivery and instrumental delivery following DDD protocols, when necessary;
· Manage and train other medical staff in management of antepartum and postpartum obstetrical emergencies such as uterine rupture or post-partum haemorrhage in accordance with DDD protocols;
Reporting
· Collect, record, and maintain patient information, such as medical histories, reports, and examination results;
· Collect medical information from patients, family members, or other medical professionals;
· Prepare organisational reports on birth, death, and disease statistics;
· Prepare official health documents or records;
· Provide a mission report and/or handover document at the end of contract;
Other position related tasks
· Represent and actively participate in any relevant meetings, as requested;
· Participate in internal work meetings;
· Report any security related issues to the line manager;
· Ability to travel and relocate if it is requested;
· Support operational organisation of DDD activities;
· Any other relevant duties requested by the line manager.
