Medecins du Monde Turkey (MDM-T) / Dünya Doktorları Dernegi (DDD) is a Turkish based humanitarian non-governmental organisation that facilitates access to healthcare for populations affected by armed conflict, violence, natural disasters, disease, famine, poverty and exclusion.
Our organization collaborates with partners and key stakeholders to implement projects that facilitate access to primary and secondary-level healthcare services to respond to the medical needs of displaced population.

Location: Eastern Aleppo
Reporting Structure: The Psychologist will be under there direct supervision of the PHC Doctor Team Leader in the clinic and will report technically to the MHPSS Supervisor.
Status:Fixed-term

EXPECTED PROFILE
Knowledge & Qualification
· Master’s /Bachelor degree or equivalent in psychology – clinical or counselling psychology
Experience
· 2 years’ experience minimum as a Psychologist,
· Experience in similar role in humanitarian assistance/with other Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) is desirable.
Languages
· Required: Arabic (oral and written)
· Preferred: Turkish and/or English
General Qualities required:
· Diplomatic;
· Flexibility and capacity of adapt to complex and changing contexts;
· Ability to work in an international context and collaborate with international and national experts;
· Familiar with multicultural environment;
IT & Equipment
· Good proficiency with Microsoft package
· Good command on data analysis.
Intellectual & Physical (if required)
· Intact physically
Communication & Information flow
· Good communication skills with teamwork, and patients
· Good reporting skills
RESPONSIBILITIES
· Provide psychological support to patients according to DDD principles and protocols to improve the patients’ mental health and assist the implementation of all MHPSS activities where there is need according to the targeted population, in collaboration with other members of the mental health and medical team: Case managers, psychologists, CMHW’s, psychiatrists, Doctors and nurses.
· The psychologists are to provide specialized individual and/or group consultations within the PHC or when needed on the home level for high risk cases that for one reason or another are unable to access the PHC (severe MH, torture survivor, disability, elderly, etc.).
· Carry out evaluation of psychological and mental health needs of patients, elaborate a diagnosis and establish a plan of treatment.
· Diagnose any psychological disorder and if necessary, refer the patient to the medical team/Psychiatrist in order to receive drug treatment.
· Provide psychological support and psychotherapy sessions (individual, family, and group) to patients according to DDD protocols to improve their mental health conditions.
· Inform the patient and his/her relatives about the possible consequences of the illness and drug treatment to follow in order to improve the patient's condition.
· In close collaboration with the case manager ensure the referral of patients to other health professionals and other NGO’s in order to provide the most appropriate treatment.
· Participate in the planning, coordination and implementation of activities in close cooperation with MHPSS coordinator.
Representation
· If requested by the MHPSS coordinator in some activities.
· Participate to the DDD meetings.
· Pass on relevant information relating to the field of activity of DDD and the context.
· Ensure that all patient information is kept confidential (files, data).
· Contributes to work in interdisciplinary team (psychiatrist, Case manager, doctors, nurses).

Reporting
· Provide regular reporting on your activities to your Line-Manager upon his/her solicitation.
· Provide your line-manager with a Handover Report at the end of your contract.
