Based in Eastern Aleppo, Syria, The Lab technician assistant works under the direct responsibility of the Lab technician, to whom s/he must report.
Status: Fixed-Term Contract

EXPECTED PROFILE
Knowledge & Qualification
· Degree in Laboratory Institute;
· The Lab technician assistant’s mission is to provide the quality on-site laboratory services. Provides basic microbiology, immunology and hematology tests.
Experience
· 1-year experience in Chemistry Techniques, Lab Environment, Clinical Lab Testing and Procedures;
· Knowledge of managed healthcare systems, medical quality assurance, quality improvement and risk management;
· Dedication to patient safety and quality of healthcare
Languages
· Required: Arabic (oral and written).
IT & Equipment
· Good proficiency with Microsoft package
Intellectual & Physical
· Analytical thinking to evaluate different approaches/solutions for a specific environment
Communication & Information Flow
· Written and spoken communication skills;
· Interpersonal skills and able to communicate with people at all levels;

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
Perform lab procedure for diagnosis
· Support the Lab technician in conducts analyses of tissue and body fluids for disease or abnormalities.
· Support the Lab technician in check body fluids for signs of disease or to check blood levels, such as cholesterol and white and red blood cell count.
· Might run tests on blood specimens to determine blood type before transfusions.
· Support the Lab technician in provides test results for patient diagnosis and treatment by operating hematology, urinalysis, and coagulation equipment; performing manual methods of differentials.
· Might also be responsible for obtaining fluids or tissue for testing.
Manage lab stock and supervision
· Support the Lab technician in Management of stock, follow up of consumptions and planning of orders of consumable items for the lab
· Support the Lab technician to Ensure the overall quality of the analyses performed in the lab.
· Support the Lab technician to Ensure for maintenance of laboratory premise, and keep all equipment functional
· Support the Lab technician to Ensure the appropriate use of laboratory equipment and consumables
· Make sure that blood and infections waste handling procedures are safe for all laboratory clinical staff and cleaners
Record, report and ensure the reliability of data
· Support the Lab technician in Management of lab records systematically
· Report laboratory data and consumption to the line manager.
Collaborate and communicate with other teams for smooth functioning
· Cooperates with clinic team (Hand over examinations result timely to the clinical team)
· Close collaboration with clinical staff to ensure optimal coordination between laboratory investigations and clinical services.
· Participates actively in medical meetings and program staff meetings
· Promotes a friendly, non-judgmental and professional approach and respects the rights of all patients

Promote and encourage a culture of compliance and ethics throughout Dünya Doktorları Derneği. As applicable to the position, maintains a clear understanding of Dünya Doktorları Derneği and donor compliance and ethics standards and adheres to those standards. Conducts work with the highest level of integrity. Communicates these values to staff and to partners and requires them to adhere to these values.
