Medecins du Monde Turkey (MDM-T) / Dünya Doktorları Dernegi (DDD) is a Turkish-based humanitarian non-governmental organisation that facilitates access to healthcare for populations affected by armed conflict, violence, natural disasters, disease, famine, poverty, and exclusion.
Our organization collaborates with partners and key stakeholders to implement projects that facilitate access to primary and secondary-level healthcare services to respond to the medical needs of the displaced population.
DDD is the 16th member of the Doctors of the World International Network, which is committed to meeting the health needs of vulnerable people globally.

Hierarchical & Functional links
· Based in Syria, the driver is directly responsible to the logistics officer.
· The driver does not directly supervise any staff.

EXPECTED PROFILE
Knowledge & Qualification
· Minimum secondary school education (desired).
Experience
· Minimum 2 years of experience as a driver -Valid driving license -NGO experience preferred
Languages
· Fluent Arabic (written and spoken). Basic English is an advantage.
IT & Equipment
· Basic knowledge of the Microsoft package
Essential Duties
· The driver is responsible for driving the vehicles.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Driving vehicles and passenger safety and security of transported materials/equipment
• Adapting his/her behaviour and driving to ensure passengers' security, equipment, and the rest of the road/street users (drivers, pedestrians, etc.).
• Always drive according to the Syrian circulation code and respect speed limits
• Respect DDD rules of security:
• Any other passengers other than the DDD team during his service are forbidden (except if it is authorized by the direct supervisor)
• Weapons in the vehicle or by passengers with weapons are forbidden
• Phone calls during driving are not allowed
• Always wear a safety belt while driving and ensure all passengers do the same
• Ensuring having a valid driving license and always having it ready for any eventual inspection
• Ensuring that all necessary documents are valid and renewed before the expiration date
Maintenance of the vehicle
• Checking on a daily and weekly basis the vehicle's motor, oil level, brake fluid, air pressure of wheels, windshield fluid, etc.
• Alerting the direct supervisor in case of a technical problem or need for maintenance
• Organizing any necessary maintenance
• Ensuring the vehicle is clean on the inside and outside
• Ensuring all necessary equipment and materials are present in the vehicle and in good condition
Other Responsibilities:
• Fill every day a logbook with the kilometres he does and fuel consumption
• Supporting the logistic assistant with manual tasks
• Participate in internal work meetings and inform the DDD team on log issues
• Report any security-related issues to the referent
• Supporting operational organization of field trips
• To perform any additional duties related to work requested by the supervisor.
• Prepare a handover document at the end of the contract.
This job description can be modified at any time according to changes in DDD activities or in the context with prior notice and agreement between the two parties. On demand of the direct supervisor, other tasks might be added to the present list.
